Artist Statement

I’m interested in creating well balanced objects through clay that imply how movement, absence, or interruption exist in a realm that oscillates between two ideas, cultures and belief systems.  These ideas are inherently parallel to my identity as an Asian American implementing aspects of both improvised craft and the aesthetic elements of design.  My work negotiates this tension between the consciously measured and that which feels lived in and second nature.
